Bought one of these a couple years ago. The 1400 watt room heater I use burns out the contact points in the heater every year because of off and on cycling. I thought maybe this device would cure that. The contact system in this device is better than in the cheap heater…but after 2 winters the points welded themselves together…just like the heater did. This device would work for 10 times that length if it had a mercury switch designed into it. Points are on their way out the day you first use this.
I’m back to buy my second one.

This is my second one. My first one arced the contact points together after one winter. Seems whatever these contact points are made of…they sure don’t like turning on and off a 1400 Watt room heater all night long. I’ve got about 20 hours on this one and the contact points seem to be sticking already. Not happy!
The second one I purchased on Dec 5th for $19.95 plus shipping. Now…they’ve upped the price 50% to $29.90 plus shipping? Maybe they fixed the points welding themselves together. I hope so…I’m looking at buying another of these next winter.

I have three of these now. First two have worked great and I expect this one will as well.

This is the fourth one I’ve purchased, so obviously I am pleased with the product.
